Wisconsin Charter Fishing May Coho Salmon

We start Milwaukee charter fishing in late March and we concentrate on Brown trout for the first several weeks. Sometime in April we will start to catch some Coho salmon on trips. As April turns to May we are now looking for a Coho salmon bite. Each year is different and we may still be targeting Brown trout and Lake trout but by mid May we are usually all about Coho salmon. When Coho show up in numbers the bite can be very good. We will run most of our baits in the top 15 feet of water in May because the water is could and a lot of the fish are feeding near the surface. When we find a school of Coho salmon it can lead to a fast bite. This picture shows a group that caught their limit within three hours.
