Robin and her Parents with a nice May catch of Trout and Salmon while Milwaukee Charter Fishing
It was a cold day in May but Robin and her Parents from Iowa were able to land several nice fish aboard Silver King Charters. Milwaukee Charter Fishing is usually all about the Coho Salmon in May but in 2008 the season started out cold and slowed the bite at times.
In this picture Robin, Al and Pam are standing by their catch of 3 Chinook Salmon, 3 Rainbow Trout and 2 Coho Salmon. These fish were caught in 120-140 feet of water anywhere from the surface down to 110 feet. We picked away at them and had action on spoons and flasher/fly combinations.
The surface temperature was 44.5 degrees and typically by late May it is in the high forties to low fifties. With cold temperatures from top to bottom it scatters the fish but we were able to find some decent action at times and made an enjoyable trip for the crew from Iowa.
The large Chinook Salmon in the middle was 13 lbs and was caught by Robins dad Al. We took this fish on a wire dipsy rod set at 100 feet down. During this trip Charter Fishing Milwaukee we used a green flasher with a green fly to catch this big fish. It took Al twenty minutes to bring in and they had plans to grill the Salmon that night.
Several of the Coho Salmon and Rainbow Trout came off boards near the surface in the top 15 feet of water. These all came on orange flashers and green peanut flies. These fish are excellent eaters. The downriggers took the balance of the fish and it was another successful day Charter Fishing Milwaukee Wisconsin aboard Silver King Charters.
