Milwaukee's Brew City Salmon Tournament 2nd place 2013
Well folks we finished 2nd place in Brew City again! We had 179.33 pounds of fish for our 10 biggest fish. Any other year we win but this year another boat had 212 pounds. Great job! We had pre fished north all week but on the day of the tournament 75 of the 120 boats ended up where we were and this shut it all down. The spot was good at best and with that much boat pressure fish shut down. Lucky for us a friend of ours was fishing south and doing well, so at 8:30am we set out to motor 20 miles south and try to change our fortunes. When we got there we had less than 4 hours to fish and the fishing though tough was good and there was no boat pressure. We were able to catch 10 King salmon weighing just under 180 pounds, which we thought might win it. The boat who won was fishing there all day and it was just to much to over come. Steve who gave us the tip came in 3rd place with 166 pounds of fish. We fish tournaments because it is the best way to become better and there is no substitutes.
Over the last 4 years we have been in the top ten of tournaments fished 16 times. Out of those 13 of these were top five finishes. Out of these 11 were top 3 finishes, of which 6 were 2nd place and 3 were first place. Out our home port of Milwaukee for the largest one day tournament on Lake Michigan, which is a 115 to 120 boat tournament, we have finished 2nd in 2010, 3rd in 2011, 2nd in 2012 and 2nd in 2013. This is the consistency we bring to each one of our charters. We will continue to fish these tournaments that force us to stay on top of the best technology. If we don't win we want to know what techniques beat us and where the best fishing is during that time of the season. This is why we try to fish 4 or five tournaments a year in the ports close to where we fish. We hope your trip will feeling like a tournament winning trip when you fish with Silver King Charters.
