           On this morning in mid August the temperature break was 75 feet down. This is called the thermocline  and is where a sharp temperature break occurs. This temp break was from 65 degrees to 55 degrees within a few feet around 75 feet of water. Salmon prefer 42-55 degree water and usually will be found below the temp break or thermocline.
